I’m all about simplifying life, which sounds like an oxymoron at times given the complexity of living. Nevertheless, I’ve never been one to back down when faced with the improbable. Hence, I will continue my efforts to challenge the universe’s riddles. One of my efforts to ease my life has been coming up with uniforms to reduce incidences of nothing-to-wear conundrums. I’ve learned from uniforms that removing the decision of what to wear from your daily tasks radically improves your life. So much so that Barack Obama and other busy people have employed this tactic. I know the thought of not creating a look based on the feeling of the moment seems a little uncreative. However, consider this, how many times have your feelings led you more so to the optimal look than decision paralysis? If the former applies, you have my permission to stop reading, if the latter applies please continue to discover the spring uniform that you probably already have in your closet.
This spring not only brings flowers, but also continues the trend of comfortable fabulous shoes and statement t-shirts. Not so long ago my psyche associated chic dressing with painful feet because I always felt like four-inch heels were a must for any occasion. This association ended two years ago when I purchased my first cute loafers and partially joined the league of women who hate heels. (I still wear them sometimes) I learned then that wearing heels isn’t synonymous with glam, it may be synonymous with joint problems though, but that’s another story for another time. The urge to literally wear our political dispositions on our shoulders has elevated the statement t-shirt to spring staple status. Now as a lover of graphic t-shirts I applaud this gift from spring. Lesson of the day, bright loafers and a statement t-shirt are all you need to update your spring look, here’s how to wear them for multiple occasions.
Spring Casual Look = Loafers + Statement T-Shirt + Distressed Denim
If you aren’t into athleisure, a statement t-shirt tucked into your favorite jeans is an easy out-the-door look. Spice it up a little with a scarf if you wish.
Spring Work Look = Loafers + Statement T-Shirt + Black Trousers + Blazer
In most cases the building manager of your office insists on maintaining an inverse relationship between the weather and your office during the warm season. So throw that blazer over your body to keep you warm lest your illegal space heater is confiscated.
Spring Night Out Look = Loafers + Statement T-Shirt + Black Leather Mini
Because leather miniskirts should be everyone’s year-round obsession. Also, the chokers from the 90s are back; so rummage through your junior high keepsakes and pull yours out. Finish the look off with a clutch of your liking.
